Why Chamber Membership Matters
A national study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. found that when consumers know a small business is a Chamber member:
They are 44% more likely to view the business favorably
They are 63% more likely to make a future purchase
A Brief History of the Chamber. Founded in 1977 as the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce, we initially served a strong and active business community in Pikesville. As neighboring Owings Mills and other parts of Northwest Baltimore grew, our reach expanded and we became the Pikesville-Owings Mills Chamber of Commerce. In response to growing membership across ZIP codes beyond Pikesville and Owings Mills, the Chamber rebranded in 2021 as the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce. Today, we proudly serve a regional business community spanning Baltimore County.
Our Logo. Designed by member Heidi Hiller of Innovative Party Planners and Event Pros, our logo symbolizes our growth:
Upward arrows represent progress
An open building signals that we’re open for business
A barn honors Owings Mills’ agricultural history
A road represents the Chamber’s role in guiding businesses to success
